Term 3, Week 3
Welcome to week 3 everyone,
Great weather to start the week! I hope everyone had a wonderful
weekend, the weather of Saturday showed us just how lucky we are to live in
this beautiful area.
In other news……….Go Dockers!
Merit awards:
Congratulations to Alec for receiving a merit award last week for
the positive way he has started term 3. Well done!
Interschool Cross Country:
Last Thursday the OLC interschool cross country team competed in
Bunbury. From all accounts it was a great day and the Year 4’s were well
behaved and put everything out on the field. A massive congratulation to Kai
for placing 3rd overall, excellent stuff mate and well done to everyone!
Stationery:
I have seen a lot of lead pencils that are getting quite small and
are not good for the students motor skills, please make sure they have some
extra pencils if they are chewing through them.
Haircuts:
Boys AND girls hair needs to be out of their face. It is fine to
use bobby pins, gel etc. but please be aware that it needs to be able to stay
that way for the day. Hair that falls below the collar must be
tied up.
Our Learning:
Last
week we wrote a whole class persuasive text on ‘Animals should not be kept in
cages’. It was a great couple of lessons as we made sure to include rhetorical
questions, strong arguments and high modality words.
